Art and Literature: Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein and 19th. Century Art

The spirit of an age reflects itself in thought, art, literature.

Reading Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein many pictures of the same period came vividly in my mind: I have thus decided to find the ones that best fitted the different events described in the book.

May 14, 2018- Fifth Meeting- Frankenstein

In the last meeting we talked about Chapters 1 and 2 of the second volume of Frankenstein. We did not have a specific leader but all members participated in the discussions. 

May 7, 2018- Fourth Meeting – Frankenstein

In this meeting Nicoletta led the discussion of Chapters 3-8.  We finished reading Volume I of the novel.  

April 23, 2018- Third Meeting- Frankenstein

This time instead of meeting at the Istitut Micurà de Rü  we met at Villa Solinda.

April 9, 2018- First Meeting – Frankenstein

On our first meeting we agreed on a 9 meetings division of the novel.  We also stablished the team leaders for each meeting. Jose gave an introduction on Mary Shelley, her life and the novel Frankenstein.
